Pumpkin Carving and Carmel Apples

So for family home evening right before Halloween we decided to carve pumpkins and make carmel apples.

Our F.H.E. brothers came over and we had a pumpkin carving contest. I decided to just be the photographer...

Let the pumpkin contest begin

Kristyne and Peggy were partners
Brittany and Jeff worked together
I tried helping Heidi with the pumpkin seeds

The carmel apples!

Me and Brittany enjoyed the carmel apples.

They were very excited about their pumpkin idea.

And even more excited about their final product.
I decided that theirs won.

Lagoon

So a couple of weekends ago Peggy, Kristyne and I decided we wanted to go to Utah to go to the Freightmares at Lagoon. We met some friends who were from that area and they knew other people who were able to get us discount tickets. We went up there Friday and stayed at Peggy's sisters that night. Saturday afternoon we went to the Gateway mall in Salt Lake and after we got all our shopping out of us we headed to Lagoon. We rode a few rollercoasters and went through a haunted house and then our friend told us that his sister worked at the sky coaster, which usually costs an extra 15 bucks to go on, and he said that she would let us on for free. My first thoughts whenever I would look at people going on that was "heck no am I ever going to pay to go on something that scary!" Peggy and Kristyne were all about going on it so I began to consider it. They were soo excited and I was soo nervous, but I decided that if they could do it, then so could I. Let me describe the sky coaster for you... three people get harnessed together, then they hook you onto a rope, then they drop you onto your stomachs super-man style and a crane starts to take you 150 feet into the air. Then the little ant-sized guys at the bottom proceed to count down "three-two-fly" and right on fly Kristyne had to pull the cord which sent us free falling at 60 mph back and forth. It was by far the scariest thing I have ever done, but was soo worth it. We screamed and laughed the whole time and then could not stop talking about it the rest of the weekend. That was definitly worth the whole trip to lagoon. It was soo much fun!

Longboarding!

So me and my roommates have a new found hobby...longboarding! We have some new friends who are really into longboarding and they even have their own company that they are starting where they make their own boards. We have only gone a couple of times so far, but we plan on going pro soon. We are almost there.

Kristyne's Birthday!

Last weekend was Kristyne's 20th birthday. Her family drove from Boise, and her brothers and sister-in-laws drove from utah, and we met them all in Pocatello. We went shopping at the mall then went to her grandparents house to celebrate and have pizza, cake and open presents. Afterwards we all went to this big theatre in town to watch the play Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her cousin was in the play and it was really good. We had alot of fun. Here are a few pictures.

Provo

So after my parents came to Rexburg for one night, and I gave them a quick tour of the small town, we headed off to Salt Lake. Once I dropped them off at my uncle's house I headed to Provo to see Elizabeth! It was so good to see her since I haven't seen her since I left home in January! We had alot of fun together. When I first go there we went to the BYU vs. UNM football game. BYU won. Then we went back to her place, I met her roommates, and we went out to eat with some of her friends. Afterwards we went to her friend John's house (super nice house!) and we watched a movie and then talked for hours! Then on Sunday we woke up and went to church and Elizabeth had to give a talk, which was soo good!! It was by far the best talk I have heard in a very long time! Over all it was a wonderful weekend! Can't wait to do it again Elizabeth!

BYU-Provos fan-filled stadium definitely puts BYU-Idaho to shame
Wow I just realized how much catching up I have to do on here! I have about two weeks of pictures and stories I need to post so good thing it is Sunday afternoon and I have nothing better to do while all my roommates sit and do homework.

To begin, a couple weekends ago my parents were so nice to drive 22 hours from Illinois to Idaho to bring me my car! To make it even better, the day they got to Idaho was their anniversary! They really love me. So once I realized it was their anniversary I felt really bad that they had just been in the car all day to make it from Nebraska to Idaho, so I figured I had to do something nice for them. It was also coincidentally mothers weekend here at byu-i, which meant every single hotel in town was pretty much booked. So before they got into town I tried finding a hotel room for them to stay at and I decided I would just book it and pay for it for them as a gift. Since I waited till the last minute to do this the only three rooms I could find in Rexburg happend to be 3, themed, honeymoon suites. Since it was their anniversary anyways and they were going to need some place to stay, Brittany, Kristyne and I decided to go check it out. We went to the hotel and they let us take the key to go check out the three different rooms. We thought they were the coolest rooms ever, so we picked our favorite one and I tried suprising my parents. It was a really nice hotel and it was Friday night so once my parents got into town us three girls decided to go to their hotel room and "hang out" with them. We had so much fun going swimming in the pool, filling up their jacuzzi in their bedroom and sitting in it while we watched gossip girl and ate popcorn. By far it was the best Friday night we have ever had here in Rexburg!
Here are some pictures of their honeymoon suite. It had some type of cool mediterranean theme.

There was a waterfall right in front of it

Beginning of Fall!

I finally made it to Rexburg! After a month of school already coming and going, I decided to fly out to Idaho so that I could get settled and start looking for a job, which ended up turing out very well because I was able to get a job my second day here. Then my parents so generously drove my car out to me about a week and a half later! I am very excited to be back and I am even more excited to be living with my 3 favorite roommates from the past two semesters. Peggy and I lived together in the winter, and then in the summer I lived with Brittany and Kristyne. It is so much fun being all together! Here are a few pictures from the beginning of Fall. I will try to keep up as best as I can with my blog, and hopefully it shouldn't be too hard since i'm not even in school right now. Enjoy!

End of Summer Semester

I finally decided that I should probably post the last of my pictures from the summer semester. Its been a while since I've been home already but I thought I might as well put them up so I can bring the summer semester to a close. Sadly...

This was when we went to the midnight showing of batman. We had to wait outside in line for over an hour!

waiting for the movie to start.

I made Brittany and Kristyne breakfast in bed our last morning of school. Brittany ate almost all of it!

When we should have been packing and cleaning our apartment, this is what we did instead.

So after we were all done with classes for the semester we all kept procrastinating cleaning and packing so much that we put it off until the day before we left. We woke up at 9 a.m. on saturday and cleaned straight until 6 p.m.! We were all so frustrated and exhausted after all that cleaning. Later that night some guys came by and asked me and Kristyne if we wanted to go fourwheeling at the dunes, so that is how we spent our last night in Rexburg! It was alot of fun. When we got home me and Kristyne layed in her bed and reflected on how much fun we all had this semester! Now we can look forward to how much fun we are all going to have next semester together!
Right before we headed off to California. Goodbye Rexburg!

Boise--Fourth of July Weekend

So for the fourth of july we decided to get out of Rexburg and do something fun. Kristyne is from Boise, which is about 5 hours away, and also Brittany's dad lives like 5 minutes from Kristyne's. We invited our guy friends that we always hang out with so that it would be more fun. We left on Thursday after all of us girls got done with our classes and drove up there that night. On Friday we went over to Brittany's dads house and went swimming and had a bbq. It was alot of fun. Then we went back to Kristyne's and did/watched some firworks and just hung out. The next day we were all pretty tired, but we went to downtown boise and walked around/shopped for a little bit. Then we went back to Brittany's dads and swam a little more then stayed up all night watching movies. On Sunday we went to sacrament and then went back to Kristyne's to eat lunch and head home. It was alot of fun! We did not want to go back to Rexburg after this weekend. Good thing school is almost over!
