Yesterday was the one month mark until my graduation. As I have been thinking about this next big step in my life I remembered why I even started this little blog in the first place. It was my freshman year at college and I wanted a way to show my parents and my aunt and grandparents what I was doing at college. Since I was so far away from home and I wanted to show my family pictures of me, my new friends and the exciting things we did...I decided to create this blog (hence the title of the blog courtneyatcollege.)
Since now I am getting ready to graduate from college and move on to the next step of my life (marriage) I thought it was time to move on to a new blog as well. One that Ryan and I could share together. Soo we, together, created this New Blog! I hope it is not too soon to post it already since we aren't yet wedded, but we have some really excited news that we wanted to share so please go check out our new blog, you can check out a couple of our engagement pictures, and you can read the exciting news we have!

But from now on I will stop posting on this blog because I am moving over to ryanandcourtneynauahi.blogspot.com, so please follow us there!

Wedding Dress

I'm pretty sure I'm about to marry into the most amazing family in the world!

Today Ryan and I met up with his aunt in Idaho Falls to pick out fabric for my wedding dress which she so amazingly offered to make! I am soo happy that I got to basically design the whole thing myself and I am so excited to see how it turns out!

But I do really miss my friends and having them here to help me with all my wedding stuff. This was the day that they came with me to try on wedding dresses. Before they endured that experience with me we all went to paradise donuts which made the whole morning so much better.

I wish I could just drop out of school for this semester and work full time planning my wedding.
That would be so nice!

For Christmas I got to go home, and Ryan came with me!!

It was alot of fun and it was Ryan's first time ever going to Chicago so we one day we went to visit some of the sites.

We went up to the top of the sears tower

After we went to the sears tower we went to Giordanos to have some Chicago style pizza.

Then we went and took a stroll down the streets before we departed.

This week of school has honsetly been the craziest of the whole semester.

Classes have been pretty manageable, considering i'm taking 19 credits, but this week was a complete overload!

I've already finished two projects and two tests since Monday. Only two more tests to go and I finally get a break and I get to head to Boise with this boy for Thanksgiving....!

This weekend Ryan and I went up to Idaho Falls for one of his best friends, Jake, and one of my new good friends, Alissa's wedding.

It was really nice and they are a really fun couple, so everything about the day was awesome!

Conference Weekend

Last weekend Ryan and I headed to Salt Lake with our good friends Peggy and Jed for Conference
We stayed in Ogden so on Saturday we took the train up to Salt Lake

We walked around the city for a while before the boys went to watch the priesthood session

Then we walked around the temple

Then on Sunday we went up to Salt Lake again and got to go into the conference center for the Sunday afternoon session.
This was in Ogden after we got back.

Our Service Project

...and one of our favorite experiences from the trip

It started with a very long, windy bus trip up this very narrow mountain. At this point we had taken some long, windy trips before, but this was very scary because when you looked out the window you couldn't even see the edge of the road because we were that close! Every time we turned a corner it felt like we were flying off the edge of the mountain.

We watched out the window as we kept going further and further up this mountain, we realized that the higher we got the more traditional the people living there looked. They were Maya people, dressed in very traditional Maya clothing, living in little straw huts.

After many twists and turns up this mountain we finally arrived at our destination, which was a school in the middle of this town. We brought with us backpacks, sweaters, and dental supplies to pass out to the kids.

The kids were beyond excited to see so many white Americans at their school. It was weird to think that to them we looked different; everything about us was different, even the way we dressed was different and at the same time we thought everything about them was different.

We passed out all the stuff we brought for them

And then we got to walk around and meet some of the little kids.
They were soo adorably cute!

And we made some friends

And they loved getting their pictures taken!

This was a really cool and humbling experience for all of us!

San Cristobal

San Cristobal was BEauTiful!
It wasn't too hot and it got nice and cool at night.
The streets were paved with bricks and the buildings were nice.

We started the day being immersed into the culture.

We watched this woman weave
And this woman showed us how she made tortillas by hand

They were delicious
Then we drove further into the town and walked around the streets

The people here were Maya
Then we had some free time, so a couple of us grabbed a taxi and went up to San Juan Chamula. This was the craziest of all the churches we visited. It was the only one where we could not bring our cameras into. (Some tourists have been put in jail for taking pictures inside)

Inside this church there were no pews. Instead they lay pine needles all over the floor and people will go in and bring their form of sacrifices to offer up. These sacrifices were very different than what you might be thinking though.
When we walked in we saw people kneeling on the ground, they would light candles and put them all around themselves, and then they would pull out sacrifices such as eggs, coca-cola, or even a dead chicken. They would begin to chant something in Mayan very loudly and give their offering. The reason they would bring coca-cola, or other soda bottles, is because they believe that burping is good, because it expels evil spirits from your body and sends them to heaven. When we walked in we saw one lady who had brought a dead chicken and when she took it out of her purse she snapped its neck and that was how she sent that sacrifice up.
This was a very interesting experience and it was really cool to see it all in person.

After we went to Agua Azul we got back into the bus and headed towards Guatemala.
This was my first time ever experiencing the whole "border crossing" thing. It was a little wild, but we all made it.

(Just taking a quick break from blogging about my meso trip to catch up on more recent events)

Well when Ryan and I got done with our summer semester we decided to drive to California for a little summer vacation before we both had to go home and start working. My family had flown out there as well so it was fun to get together and visit with everyone. We had a lot of fun while we were there.

I finally got to see my brothers and my little cousin after a long time of being apart

We did a lot of swimming at grandma and grandpa's

We went bowling

We played some softball and Frisbee in the park

And we had a little family party

We had a lot of fun in California and it was nice to have a little break from school and play a little bit.

Agua Azul

After many many hot days climbing pyramids and walking the hot streets of Mexico we finally got to put on our swimsuits and take a stop at Agua Azul on our way to San Cristobal.
This place was like a postcard! It was so beautiful and it blew all of our minds looking at it! We went to the first waterfalls, which were nice. We walked around and took a few pictures.

Beautiful, ya I know! Then we got back on the bus and drove up the mountain a little more to here...

We got to go swimming and jump off the falls and relax. It was so nice! Definitely one of our highlights!

Yaxchilan

We celebrated Cinco De Mayo in Mexico! But Mexico doesn't really celebrate it, so it was short lived, but on Cinco de Mayo we visited Yaxchilan! To get to the ruins of Yaxchilan we had to go over land, up a river, and through a jungle. It was pretty adventurous.
I think the boat ride was our favorite part...

on one side of the river was Mexico and the other side was Guatemala

In Palenque we went to see some ruins that were located more in a jungle. These pyramids were beautiful and probably my favorite that we went to. Alot of the pyramids still have not been excavated and they believe it will take 3,600 years to fully excavate all of them. These were so cool though...

Monte Alban and a Very Large Tree

While in Oaxaca we visited Monte Alban, which are more ancient ruins, but for those of you who are more familiar with the movie Nacho Libre, you may know what I am talking about.

Nacho Libre was filmed in Oaxaca and at the end they are standing at Monte Alban overlooking the pyramids.

After Monte Alban we took a drive to Santa Maria del Tule.

This tree is 130 ft tall and 175 ft around, and it is said to have the largest circumference of any in the Americas and some say in the world.

It is all one tree

The tree is about 3,000 years old. It was cool to see and now to be able to say that I have seen the largest tree in the world!

Today as I was talking to Ryan on the phone he asked me what I was doing and to that I responded "oh I'm blogging about Mexico". He felt the need to remind me that trip was almost three months ago and there is no way I can catch up on all the blogging I need to do, therefore I should just give up. As I was going through my pictures this morning I got a little discouraged because I swore I had more that did not get saved onto my jump drive and I must have deleted them already from my camera. Part of me does want to just give up on blogging about this trip, since it was a month long and I have done about a week of it so far. But since I am home for 6 weeks before school starts again, and I know I probably won't have anything excited to blog about during that time since all I will be doing is working, I might as well finish since I know one day I will wish I would have done this.
So bare with me as I try to get the motivation to finish, and in between I will try to blog about more recent happenings, but hopefully I can finish before I start school again...wish me luck!

Oaxaca

Our next stop in Mexico was Oaxaca. Being in Mexico City was cool, but Oaxaca was Beautiful!!

I was reading through my journal a little bit the other day and I came across the entry from when I was in Oaxaca and it made me remember how much I loved it there...

Day 6: "We are now in Oaxaca and today was honestly the most fun I have had all week! We started the day off by going to a few museums and seeing a couple different sights"

...then we went to the Zocalo for lunch, which was super fun because we just hung out with the professors and listened to all their funny stories they had. After lunch we went to a market in the middle of the city to do a little shopping. It was like a crazy farmers market/mall with every type of shopping you could think of; clothes, toys, shoes, food, produce, meat, fish, ect. (it smelled worse than you may be imagining)

Then we walked around the city a little longer and explored. The people here seem super friendly and unlike Mexico City I feel very comfortable and safe walking around these streets."

After we finished dinner we all began to walk around the Zocalo and everybody started acting really crazy. There were bands playing, fireworks being shot off, huge puppet people dancing around, and everybody else was dancing as well. We joined the crowd, danced around, shot off some fire works, and watched as some clowns put on a little show for us. Apparently it was the day of the children so there was a huge party in the whole city to celebrate!
As we started heading back towards our hotel we saw a parade on the street with lots of loud music and tons of people, so we decided to join the parade! We went crazy dancing and clapping and acting really wild. We were all having so much fun and all the locals were watching us and they loved to see "gringos" in the parade. People were taking pictures of US in the parade. It was so much fun!"
I wish I could find some of the pictures we took that night, but I have no idea where they went!

Boise/Wedding

Wow, it is kinda pathetic that I have had my blog for three years and I am just now hitting my 100th post. Apparenently my life is not exciting enough for me to constantly be blogging. Well since this is my hundreth post I thought I should take a break from Mexico and blog about happenings here in Idaho! Yay, so much more exciting huh?!

Well last weekend was great. Ryan and I drove up to Boise to go to one of his best friends, Jonathan's, wedding. Jon and Kaylee began dating just a few weeks before Ryan and I did so we used to hang out with them and go on double dates with them while they were here at school.

On Friday when we got to Boise I met up with my good friend Kristyne and we went to Kaylee's bridal shower together. It was fun.

Then on Saturday morning Ryan and I went to the temple for the sealing. I waited outside since I'm not endowed, but we stayed after to take some pictures with them.

Then later that night we attended the reception. It was beautiful and the food was delicious!

Cactus Garden

As we traveled from Mexico City to Oaxaca we made a pit stop at a cactus garden. When we saw this on our itinerary we were not so excited about it. After the super rough, windy bus ride up a mountain we were just excited to be out of the bus. Once we finally got off the bus we immediately wished we were back with the a.c. but I actually enjoyed the tour through the cactus garden (despite how lame it might sound). Our tour guide was really funny and smart and we learned alot about cacti and their natural uses.

(That tree had some kind of magical powers. Apparently some kings ashes were spread on it and if you hugged it it was supposed to make you happy)

...and our last day in Mexico City.

(sorry it has taken me soo long to finish posting pictures. I have ALOT to catch up on now. Between school and waiting for Peggy to send me her pictures I apologize for the hold up. I promise I'll finish posting these much quicker now!)((Thanks Peggy!))

We started the day by taking the metro (which is the busiest metros in the whole world!) to Chapultepec Park.

We saw the Monument to the Hero Children (Ninos Heroes)

Then we explored the Anthropological Museum

We met some school kids while we were there who were so fascinated with us white americans that they wanted to be friends with us.

After the museum we walked around the park. (Thanks to Peggy we got a little lost, but it was worth the adventure)

The we went to Benemerito, which is an LDS high school in Mexico City.

We had a little Q&A session with the students who were graduating soon about BYU-Idaho.
Then we had some free time to hang out with them so we went and played basketball

Day 3:

On day three in Mexico City we visited Tenochtitlan.

We went to a museum

Walked around the city and saw some beautiful cathedrals

Went to the top of the bell tower,which overlooked the city, to watch them ring the bells

Walked around the city some more and bought some delicious treats

Then we ended the night by going to the Mexico City temple to do baptisms for the dead.

These were some little girls we met in the visitor center. They were so adorable.

It was such an amazing experience!

Teotihuacan

Day 2:

Our second day in Mexico City we drove to Teotihuacan to visit some ancient pyramids.

We climbed the Pyramid of the Sun, which is the third largest pyramid in the world.

It got very tiring...

...but we finally made it to the top!

This is our whole group on the top of the pyramid of the sun.

We then walked across the ancient city of Teotihuacan and climbed to the top of the pyramid of the moon, which is smaller than the pyramid of the sun. Notice the platforms in front of the Pyramid which were used for sacraficial ceremonies.

We walked around the rest of the city and explored, climbed, warded off vendors and experienced "The Place Where Men Become Gods" (that is what Teotihuacan means).

Mexico!

Day 1:

After a very long night of traveling from Salt Lake to Atlanta we finally arrived in Mexico City.
Here we are at the airport more than excited to finally be there.

We took our luggage to our tour bus that would be taking us all around Mexico.

We took our seats and we were off!

Our first stop was the Basilica

We saw the famous cloak of Juan Diego's with the image of Guadalupe

We got sprinkled with some holy water.

Saw the original Basilica (which is sinking because Mexico City was built on water)

Climbed up a ton of stairs to two different chapels where people were worshipping and praying.

Went to Tlatelolc, or Plaza of three cultures (ancient, modern, and contemparary buildings)

Then we finally headed to our hostel to relax and enjoy the city.

Monday morning I was lying here...

...and before I knew it I was back in the states.
The chilly Rexburg weather is kinda refreashing, but I kinda miss Central America already. I have about another week and a half before I start classes again so I am sure I'll have plenty of time to blog all of my adventures, but as for now I am still trying to move in, catch up, and get back into the swing of normal life.
I'm leaving tomorow to head to Boise for memorial day weekend so I will have to resume this blog when I return.

Right now I am in Chiapas Mexico, too far to see or even call my mom, so I wanted to wish my mother, and all the other mothers out there, a happy mothers day! Mom I just sent you a nice long email updating you on everything that is going on with me so hopefully you got that.
Tomorow is actually mothers day here in mexico but today in relief society we had a really awesome lesson on mothers. It was really touching, i loved it alot!
I promise, to anyone who is interested about what is going on with me, that as soon as i get back to the u.s. i will blog all about my trip and put up lots of pictures! I am having an amazing time and having some even more amazing experiences. Today is also the half way mark for the trip, so i only have two more weeks left.
So I promise lots of pictures in about two weeks!

So I realize that I have done a real good job at neglecting my little blog lately. Sorry! This past semester was really busy for me. But now that it is over I suppose I don't really have an excuse anymore. Well the semester ended last Friday, I spent the very short weekend in Boise, and now I am back in Rexburg doing the whole "school" thing again. Since me and my friends are going on a study abroad for the summer semester we had to come back to school last Monday to take classes for 2 weeks before we leave for Mexico. We don't really mind having to be back at school so soon since we will be traveling around Latin America for a whole month. We only have two more days left of classes to go and on Sunday we will be on a plane heading to Mexico City!
We are beyond excited!
I promise I will do a better job at updating, especially since I will have fun stuff to update about. So please don't loose hope in me...I will be back very soon!

It is ten o'clock on a Monday morning, by far the worst day of the week, and even though I am dreading the fact that I still have 4 more classes ahead of me, I feel as though I have a lot to be grateful for.
I am grateful that I have roommates that I can count on to wake me up in the morning so I don't miss my classes.
I am so happy that I just got two perfect scores (and even a bonus point!) on my anatomy lab quizzes that I just finished taking.
I am beyond grateful for my dad who I know loves me because he does the nicest things in the world for me!
I am grateful for the bitterly cold days here in Rexburg, because it makes days like today seem so warm (even though it is only 30 degrees outside), and it makes me look forward to spending a month in some very warm regions of the world.

Taking a break

Right now I am sitting in the library trying to work on homework, but as I looked over at Kristyne I saw that she was blogging so I figured I deserved to take a break as well. If she can I can, right?! Plus we have both been on campus all day. I woke up at 7:30 and have been on campus since 9 this morning studying and going to classes. Non stop fun... Good news is that I have gotten most of my assignments for this week completed already and I have memorized the anatomy of the eye and ear! Less exciting news is that this semester is going to be a killer and I will probably neglect my little blog a whole lot.

Kristyne is putting lots of pictures on her blog so I want a picture on mine...

Well, that is all I got.
Now that I have filled my blogging hunger, I'm gonna go back to work.

5 reasons I am excited for 2010

2010 is going to be a really great year...I can already tell. Here are a few highlights that I am excited for:

1. Turning 21- I feel like 21 is going to be an exciting age, even if I don't use this number as a "going to the bars and partying my life away" I feel like I am getting older and I have alot to look forward to in my life ahead of me. (Don't worry, I am still going to act like a child at times :)

2. Being a junior in college. This is so crazy to me, I can not believe I only have 2 more years left. It is kinda bitter sweet to me. These first two years seriously flew by and although I am very excited to graduate college, I don't know if I am ready to be done.

3. Traveling - finally getting out of this country and seeing the world. Yes it is true, I have never been outside of the U.S. and this is going to be my year to finally experience different cultures! I am so so excited!

4. Most of my missionary friends come home this year! I can not believe that it has already been 2 years for most of them! I am so excited to see them and go to school with alot of them again! Like I said before, those first two years of college seriously flew by and it is going to be so nice to have my friends back!

5. Living with these classy ladies--this will be the first time that us four will live together with no other roommates, and we are very excited!

First it made me kinda sad that I was not in snowy Rexburg having fun with them, but then it made me laugh because I know that they all miss me so much, and then it made me excited because i realized that on Christmas we will have exactly 4 months before we will be traveling together and loving life in a much much warmer climate!

Thanksgiving this year was wonderful! We spent the day at our good friends the Clark's. The day was full of food, laughter, pie, games and lots of fun.

I have alot to be grateful for, and I have had alot of time to reflect on that this week since I was asked to give a talk this Sunday on gratitude. I would not even know where to begin, but I know I have the Lord to thank for all that I have and I hope I can continue to show my thanks every day and not just on thanksgiving.

Winter anxious

I just registered for my classes next semester and I am very excited because for once I got the schedule I planned out!
16 credits--2 health science, 2 sociology, and finally the second half of anatomy and physiology.
I am very anxious for what the winter semester has to bring.

I am even more excited to live with my 3 best friends in our new apartment. It will finally be just the four of us and no one else. We are very happy about this.

Alright so I have realized that I still have some more catching up to do and I'm really not sure what has taken me so long. I am going to start about 3 weeks ago, on October 18th to be exact. One of the main reasons I went out to Idaho in the first place for the week...but I suppose I will start at the beginning.
So Sunday afternoon Brittany, Peggy and I spent our last few hours enjoying the beautiful fall scenery in Salt Lake.

We went to this really big famous park and had a picnic. It was nice.

Then we went up to temple square and hung out for a little bit before we headed back to Rexburg.
Sunday was Kristyne's 21st birthday and ever since I started talking about going to visit, Peggy and Brittany kept coming up with all of these ideas to surprise Kristyne by bringing me back to their apartment.
This was their "brilliant" idea...

Trust me, I was very surprised I fit too.

So before I went into their apartment they made sure that Kristyne was in her bedroom and told her to wait there while they wrapped her "present". As I tried so desperately to fit into the suitcase I begged them to tell her to hurry so I could get out of that little thing. When she came upstairs and realized someone was in the suitcase she had noo idea who it could be and thought it was another friend who was trying to scare her. She nervously opened it up...

And was soo surprised!

It was so fun!

Finally reunited once again!

We finished the night off by celebrating the way a birthday should be...

Just a quick little post before I go to bed.

So on Saturday us girls spent the day in Salt Lake City. We did some shopping and then went to the Ingrid Michaelson concert and we LOVED it!!! She put on a great show and she was soo entertaining. Also her new c.d. is to die for! I love all of her music and now I love her even more as an artist after seeing her live! I would go see her again in a heart beat!

Weekend out west

So last thursday I flew out to SLC for the beginning of my trip. My good friend Elizabeth came to pick me up from the airport and then we went to Provo where she is living. We had some fun times together and it was nice to catch up with her. I also got to visit a couple of old friends while I was down there so that was also fun. Sadly Elizabeth and I did not take any pictures.
Then on Friday after Peggy and Brittany got done with classes they traveled down to Salt Lake City to meet up with me. They are such good friends. I was sooo excited to see them!

This was us meeting up for the first time at the gateway. After we meet up we walked around SLC for a little while, met up with our friend Mike, went to dinner, then went to a halloween dance party. We had more fun doing karaoke then we did actually dancing.

Well I would love to sit here and post the rest of the weekend, but blogger is taking 10 years to post pictures and I have to go to work soon. Soo more to come! Stay tuned...

Here are some of my current obsessions.

First, I would call this more of an addiction...I loove this show!

Right now I am still catching up to this season. I am finishing up season 5 and it has gotten very intense. I love going and renting them one disk at a time and staying up all night watching all four episodes. I have one more disk to go and I am not sure if I want to finish it already. I don't know if I'm ready to go to watching only one episode every week.

Next, I have been completely obsessed with shoes lately. Whenever I see a good pair that I want, I feel like I NEED them! If I could go on a shoe shopping spree, that would probably make me the happiest person in the world. Whenever I am having a bad day I seriously will go shoe shopping and not even buy any shoes. Just merely looking at them makes me feel happier...oh how I wish I could drop 120 dollars on these...

And lastly, I've really been in love with this song lately. I get very excited when they play them at work, the Beatles make work so much better.

Tonight my friend Catherine and I went to the world fashion show in Chicago.
As the name hints, it was a show full of designers from around the entire world! It was soo amazing!

So on Sunday I got to spend some time with my "little sister" Makenzie and it was so fun! She gave me a french manicure and told me all about her boyfriends, which believe it or not the girl has more than me! Haha. Then I realized that right now I am twice as old as her and I asked her if we would still be friends when she is 20 and she fired back with some katty comment. Then she thinks it is funny to bring up the question of why I am not married yet, but at the rate she is going I wouldn't be suprised if she got married before me!

Today has been a very successful day, which has made me very happy!

I love making check lists and being able to cross everything off.

And also, I bought my plane ticket home today! I will be flying home next wednesday the 29th from Vegas, which means I will be going to St. George to visit for a few days! I plan on leaving Rexburg on Saturday once I get everything packed and clean. I am very excited to have a little vacation before going back home to work, so if anyone is doing anything fun those few days I will be down there please let me know!

Bike Rides and Fireworks

Soo I still have some fun photos from when Dallin came to visit, but I have been so busy that I haven't really found time to post them up.

So to flash back two weeks ago... Friday afternoon after we got home from camping Dallin and I were really tired so we showered and took a little nap. Then we went to eat some chinese food and spent the rest of the night enjoying Rexburg.

We first drove out to an empty field to shoot off some fireworks to kick start the fourth.

After we shot off fireworks we went to get sno cones and then decided to go on a bike ride. We rode out to this big tree and climbed to the top. It was like we were kids again, we had so much fun!

After our little bike riding adventure we went back to my place and watched a movie and crashed.

I did not take any pictures the next day for the fourth of July so I will quickly just talk about it. In the afternoon we went to the lake and relaxed in the sun. Then that night we went up to Idaho Falls with some of my friends to watch the fireworks show up by the temple. It was a really big show and there were tons of people there. It was alot of fun and a great way to spend our last night together in Idaho.

Thanks for coming to visit me Dallin! I can't wait till you come back again!

Finals

Ahhh! I feel like I am so close to the end, yet I still have soo much to do in this last week of school! Tomorow I have three more muscle exams I have to take for anatomy, as well as a the neurophysiology exam (thank goodness this one is take home!). Then I need to finish my final assignment for my computer class, take my first aid final, two more quizzes for my health science-program planning and implemation class, a paper for D&C and my final dance for jazz. Phew! Then after that I need to pack, clean, and figure out how I am going to get home. Not only that, but I also need to some how find time to enjoy my last week in Rexburg until 2010. One week is a sufficient amount of time to accomplish all of this...right?!

Yellowstone- Part II

Yellowstone- Part I

Day 2 of Dallin's visit we went to Yellowstone! A couple of my friends were going up to Yellowstone to go camping and since neither myself nor Dallin has ever been up there, we decided to tag along. We had a ton of fun and got to see some of the most beautiful sites ever! We drove up there early in the morning so we could go check out some of the sweet sites and explore a little.

Ice Caves

So Dallin came to visit me this weekend! I was really excited to show him around Idaho and show him all the fun things to do here. The first day he was here was the last day I had classes, so he was a sport and came with me to my classes. Afterwards we walked around Rexburg for a little bit then me up with some of my friends to go to the ice caves. The ice caves are basically what they sound like. We had to climb down into a cave and crawl/slide through the ice until we got to the end. It was an adventure and we had alot of fun pushing eachother through.

Memorial Day Weekend

Yes I know, it has been a long time since I have updated. I realized that the last post I did was from one of the first weekends of this semester, which was back in April, so I will try to do better and update this a little more often. Here are some pictures from memorial day weekend. It was alot of fun. We had monday and tuesday off of school but somehow it felt way longer. We ended up doing alot and I wish I had more pictures, but I hope these will do.

First Brittany, Kristyne me and our two friends Andy and Travis all went up to Boise to hang out at Kristyne's house. We went up there Friday after we all got done with classes and just hung out Friday night. Then on Saturday we met up with some of Kristyne's friends and went out boating and did some tubing.

Then on Sunday morning we woke up and drove to Pocatello to go to Kristyne's grandparents homecoming. It was really nice and afterwards we went over to their house and hung out with all her family and ate tons of food.

On Sunday night we went up to Driggs to hang out at Travis's cabin. It is really beautiful there and it was alot of fun.

Monday afternoon we went up into the mountains for a hike. I thought I was going to die because it was a pretty intense hike and I was very sick, but I made it and it was totally worth it.

There was still snow up in the mountains, but the weather was still pretty nice.

Once we finally made it to the lake we sat and enjoyed nature. Some people jumped into the lake but it was freezing...

...so i just sat and watched

Twin Falls

So a couple weeks ago Brittany and I decided to take a little trip to Twin Falls for our friend Grady's farewell. We went up on Saturday morning and spent the whole day hanging out, having fun, eating, visiting some cool sites, and enjoying the beauty of twin falls.

We hiked all the way down. It was long but we were feeling super adventerous.

Spring Break in Cali

Over spring break me and my roommates decided to take a little road trip to California. I fist spent a few days in St. George and so on their way to Cali they picked me up before we met up with Brittany.

This was the beginning of our long, but very adventerous drive...

When we finally made it to california we drove to Brittany's mother's house and had a nice home-made dinner with her and her family. It was so delicious and we ate like we were starving college students.

The next day we went to Hunington beach...

That night we had a bonfire on the beach

We also went to Brittany's sister's house and stayed one night there. She made us dinner and afterwards we got to hold her brother-in-laws bearded dragon. Pretty cool...

The drive home was not as bad as we anticipated. Peggy and I just laughed the whole way, and took a few pictures.

So I finally made it through finals week and the winter semester is over!!! I'm spending yet another weekend in St. George with my brother and grandparents. I'm loving the home cooked meals and i'm enjoying all the time I get to relax and catch up on the sleep I missed out on the last week of school. On Wednesday my roommates are coming to pick me up and we are going to take a quick little road trip up to Cali! We decided that since we never really get to see the sun in Rexburg we want to spend part of our break soaking it up on the beach. So that is what we are going to do! Don't worry, there will be pictures to come!

St George with the Fam

So this past weekend my family flew down to Salt Lake for a little trip away. On Thursday when I got done taking all my tests I drove down to SLC to meet up with my family and we drove to Provo to do a little site seeing. We decided that on our trip we wanted to make our friend Taylor a package while he was in the mtc because he wrote me a couple days ago complaining how he never gets any mail and it makes him so sad. So first we decided to visit the mtc and take a picture in front of the sign to send him and let him know that we went to "visit" him. Then we stopped at the Provo temple for a quick picture and after that headed on our way to St. George to visit the rest of the family. It was a fun little trip and it was nice to see and spend some time with everyone. I had to come home on Sunday since this week I have finals, but right now my family is still there until wednesday, but I am sure they are not having nearly as much fun without me though...

So a couple weeks ago it was my birthday. I am now offically old and i think it just goes down hill from here. Haha, just kidding. But it did make me feel good when I remembered that my dad was turning 50 that same day. So really, I am pretty young and here are some pictures to prove it.

I'm a Farmer

So I decided what I really want to be when I grow up!

Haha just kidding, I don't think I have the discipline to be a farmer, but I definitley gained a greater respect for them. At the beginning of this semester we decided to go to our roommate Jana's farm up in Rigby for f.h.e. and do the nightly chores of feeding and milking the cows. Peggy and I (mostly Peggy) loved the cows! They were soo cute, and we had soo much fun! After doing our chores Jana's mom made us dinner and we had fresh milk, homemade butter and homemade whip cream! Delicious! We loved it so much and can't wait to go back again!

Weekend in McCall

As promised, I finally have an update for everyone! I know you have all been waiting long and anxiously for this so I hope you enjoy!

So this past weekend Kristyne and I decided to take a little vaca away from Rexburg. Thursday night we drove up to Boise and stayed the night at her house then Friday afternoon we left with a few of her friends to go up to McCall. Her friend Brady has a cabin up there so we decided to go have some fun. Friday night when we finally got up there we just hung out, went to dinner, watched a movie, went hot tubing, and made some milkshakes. Then Saturday we slept in pretty late, woke up and went out to play in the snow. We did some sledding and four wheeling. It was alot of fun. That night we drove back to Boise and went to a Boise State basketball game and apparently they put Kristyne and I on the big screen! Too bad we were too busy talking and laughing to even see ourselves up there. After the game we hung out some more and watched another movie. On Sunday we woke up and went to church with Kristyne's family and went back to her house to have a nice home cooked meal before we made our long trip back to Rexburg. It was a fun little get away and we can't wait to go back to McCall in the summer to have even more fun!

Okay I know it has been a while since I have updated this and I know you are all just anxiously waiting for an update so I promise I will do it really soon! I finally got the internet working on my laptop again and that is my excuse for not updating any earlier, so now that I don't have that excuse I hope I can follow through with updating this more often. Also my life has been semi-uneventful latley mostly due to school. I have been very busy studying and taking exams latley, but I always end up doing something fun with my roommates so I will try to find some pictures of what we have been up to and I will post them on here whenever I get some time. As for today, I need to dedicate most of my time in the cadaver lab studying the muscles so hopefully tomorow?!

I would just like to start by saying thank you to Jessie White for once again taking my license away from me. It is true, cops hate me. I swear I drive like a grandma, ask my roommates! Four speeding tickets within four years is not even that many! This time my license has been suspended for 6 months and if I get caught driving within those 6 months I will be arrested, so this is just me practicing my mug shots. Anybody willing to bail me out incase they catch me riding dirty (haha Ryan you were right I guess I am a DGL)? Just kidding mom, I promise I won't drive...but it might be nice to get a new pair of shoes for all the walking I'm going to have to do!

Right before Wicked left Chicago, as well as myself (back to school), and Taylor (for his mission); Taylor got this fabulous idea that he and Josh would would take Allison and I on a double date to go see Wicked. By far the best date idea ever! It was even better than I had anticipated...the play that is. The whole night was awesome!

It started off with a very romantic candle-light dinner that the boys made for us (props to Brother Hardy who really did most the cooking as well as played our own personal server)

Then we did some waiting in line outside in the freezing cold!

Definitely the greatest show I have seen!
